ABOUT ALYSSA

Alyssa Lynn Davis is a writer and consultant with two major passions: public service and books.

Alyssa wants to make policy more equitable and public institutions more effective. She has over nine years of experience in the public sector, focused on strategic planning, data governance, economic development, and domestic policy analysis. She currently works with federal agencies and programs to address their most pressing challenges via new strategy, business process redesign, or emerging technology. She has advised leaders and lawmakers across the United States and has written extensively on issues related to equitable economic development and empowerment, government innovation, and data strategy. Her master's thesis on economic equity in cities won the Taubman Center Urban Prize.

Alyssa also loves books. In her free time, she avidly reads and writes fiction and runs a BookTok account with over 18,000 followers. She is currently searching for a literary agent for her novel about dysfunctional family and caregiving.

Alyssa has a MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Texas, she now lives in Washington, DC with her husband and derpy cat.
